08/08/2013: 17 bottlenose dolphins, 1 harbour porpoise, 8 Atlantic grey seals

11 bottlenose dolphins, one harbour porpoise and three Atlantic grey seals

Our first sighting was of four adult bottlenose dolphins beside the cardinal buoy foraging, leaping and travelling south east. Five more bottlenose dolphins; four adults, one juvenile, were spotted between the end of the harbour wall and the fish factory foraging and leaping. A male adult Atlantic grey seal was later seen swimming west of the fish factory. One adult harbour porpoise was observed foraging north west of Cwmtydu. One adult female Atlantic grey seal was in the water south west of Cwmtydu later on and one further female adult Atlantic grey seal in the water west of the fish factory. Finally, two adult bottlenose dolphins were observed foraging and tail slapping north west of the fish factory.

Weather conditions: sea state 2-3. Visibility >10km, light swell
Two bottlenose dolphins and four Atlantic grey seals

The first sighting was of two adult bottlenose dolphins, north of the harbour wall, east of the fish factory foraging. Later one adult Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water south west of Cwmtydu and two adult Atlantic grey seals were spotted hauled out in a more north easterly direction. Last observed was one adult Atlantic grey seal in the water north of Cwmtydu.

Weather conditions: sea state 1-4, visibility >10km, light swell
Four bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

Two bottlenose dolphins; one adult, one calf, were spotted foraging and leaping in close contact south west of Cwmtydu. Two other bottlenose dolphins that were travelling west were seen slightly more westerly. Finally one Atlantic grey seal was observed in the water further inland from there.
