One common dolphin and four grey seals.

We saw Daily, the harbour’s resident common dolphin, as we began the survey slowly swimming and regularly surfacing east of the harbour wall. Further along the coastline passed the fish factory a solitary Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water, though only briefly before it dived and we lost sight of it. Another three female grey seals were seen on the return leg of the survey. All three were hauled out of the water on rocks. On the way back into the harbour we again saw Daily swimming in the same area as earlier on.

7 Atlantic grey seals

At the beginning of the survey two adult female grey seals were sighted resting on the shore around the corner of the fish factory. There were also lots of kittiwakes and guillemots seen close by. Further along another lone seal was spotted diving further out from the shore. On the way back into the harbour four grey seals, one male and three females, were seen in the same place by the fish factory resting on the shoreline.
