19 bottlenose dolphins, 3 harbour porpoises and 35 Atlantic grey seals

Early in the survey 2 grey seals were seen near the coast following which the Anna Lloyd headed out passing substantial numbers of sea birds including gannets, Manx shearwaters, guillemots and kittiwakes. About 3 miles out a group of eight dolphins was located, leaping and foraging whilst travelling in a north-east direction. Travelling west a further group of six dolphins including one juvenile was encountered with a solitary grey seal swimming nearby. Six miles south-west another group of dolphins was observed consisting of three adults and one calf and shortly after two harbour porpoises were seen. The boat then headed towards the coast where grey seals were frequently observed including at one location 21 individuals in the water and hauled out on rocks. Returning along the coast one lone harbour porpoises was seen and further frequent seal observations including single seal pups on two bays. On reaching New Quay a single dolphin was seen foraging whilst travelling east.
