07/07/11: 17 bottlenose dolphins

Weather conditions: sea state 1-4, visibility >10km, light swell

The first sighting was at 13:13 when four bottlenose dolphins including one calf were seen foraging and leaping in the New Quay bay area, 50m from the boat.
The second sighting was at 13:30 when two bottlenose dolphins were seen travelling east in the New Quay bay area, 40m from the boat.
The third sighting was at 13:51 when two bottlenose dolphins (an adult and a calf) were seen foraging 50m away from the boat just outside the New Quay bay area.

Weather conditions: sea state 1-4, visibility >10km, light-moderate swell

The first sighting was at 14:19 just outside the New Quay bay area. It was an adult bottlenose dolphin foraging 400m away from the boat.
The second sighting was at 14:26 of three bottlenose dolphins - two adults and a calf. They were foraging 50m away from the boat, north of Ina Point.
The third sighting was at 14.33 of two adult bottlenose dolphins bow riding the boat, just as we approached Ne Quay headland.

Weather conditions: sea state 2-5, visibility >10km, light-moderate swell

The first sighting was at 15:36 and was of one foraging bottlenose dolphin 120m away from the boat, north of New Quay headland.
The second sighting was at 15:53 of two adult bottlenose dolphins foraging 150m from the boat, also off New Quay headland.
The third sighting was also of two adult bottlenose dolphins at 16:30, about 100m away from the boat. The dolphins were foraging east of New Quay headland.
The forth sighting was of one adult bottlenose dolphin leaping approximately 200m from the boat. It was seen at 16:35 close to New Quay head.
