A single Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming away from the harbour wall at the start of the survey

Mid survey a single dolphin was briefly spotted foraging at the end of the harbour wall. In the final 30 mins a dolphin appeared near the Cardinal Buoy and then just before 11 am four dolphins entered the bay around the headland

Numbers of dolphins continued to increase with up to 9 being present mid survey. The lone dolphin continued foraging off the Cardinal Buoy throughout the survey. Meanwhile a group of six including two calves entered the harbour and foraged close to the harbour wall. The group included dolphins that have been identified as regular visitors.

Weather conditions: sunny, sea state 4/3, wind direction NW/W

Dolphins continued foraging close to the harbour wall and around the Cardinal Buoy up until the final 5 mins of the survey. A total of five dolphins were present including two calves. Two Atlantic grey seals were seen close to the harbour wall, one male and one female.

Weather conditions: sunny/fair, sea state 2 in shore/ sea state 4 off shore, wind direction NW

The only sighting was of a sunfish about 600m north of the harbour wall swimming in a westerly direction. It was watched for around 20 minutes then it performed 4 leaps following which it was not seen again.
