05/10/13 – Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Eight bottlenose dolphins

Near the beginning of the survey period two bottlenose dolphin adults with one calf were seen foraging. A few minutes after this a solitary adult was also seen travelling east. Just over an hour later a mother and calf were observed foraging. A couple of minutes after this sighting, another mother and calf were spotted travelling northwest and also foraging.

At the beginning of the survey an adult bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging at depth.

Half an hour into the survey a juvenile atlantic grey seal was seen hauled out of the water. Half an hour after this, three adult bottlenose dolphins were seen travelling south foraging and leaping.

Ten minutes into the survey period five adult bottlenose dolphins were spotted foraging and travelling northwest.
