27 bottlenose dolphins, 17 Atlantic grey seals.
Fifteen minutes into the survey, and throughout till the end, a total of 17 Atlantic grey seals, both male and female, were sighted mainly in the water, with one female also seen hauled out on the rocks. The first bottlenose dolphins were seen an hour into the survey, a group of eight consisting of six adults and two juveniles. The group were observed leaping, socialising and foraging, and also chose to bow-ride the boat. A pair of travelling bottlenose dolphins were sighted four hours later, with a further eight about ten minutes later, consisting of six adults, a calf and a new-born. The group of eight bottlenose dolphins were observed leaping and foraging, and also chose to bow-ride the boat. A group of three bottlenose dolphins, consisting of two adults and a calf, were sighted forty minutes later, leaping and foraging. Twenty minutes later two adult bottlenose dolphins were observed travelling, and a group of four were also seen travelling with some tail slapping about half an hour later, consisting of three adults and a juvenile.
