Five bottlenose dolphins

During the 9am survey, one bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling close to the harbour wall. It was only in the area for around 15 minutes. Then a group of 4 dolphins were travelling from the headland across the bay towards the cardinal marker. They then split up and became 2 groups, one group of two were still travelling whilst the other two were foraging around the cardinal marker. They then travelled further offshore and were foraging there until the end of the survey.

Two bottlenose dolphins

One bottlenose dolphin was spotted by the cardinal marker foraging near the end of the survey. Then another dolphin joined it to make a group of 2, there were seen foraging over by the cardinal marker.

Five bottlenose dolphins

There were two of the bottlenose dolphins seen at the end of the previous survey were still observed taking long dives and thought to be foraging at depth north of the harbour wall, continuing to do so for the first hour. Half an hour in, another pair of bottlenose dolphins were also briefly observed travelling east with regular surfacing past the harbour wall.

One bottlenose dolphin and one Atlantic Grey Seal

An Atlantic grey seal and one dolphin were spotted half way through the survey. They were both seen off the harbour wall. The dolphin was foraging and the seal was just in the water. The dolphin was in the area for around an hour.
