05/07/12: 23 bottlenose dolphins and five Atlantic grey seals

Nine bottlenose dolphins and two Atlantic grey seals

The first sighting was of one bottlenose dolphin foraging off New Quay headland. The next sighting was of two adult bottlenose dolphins and one calf foraging at Ynys Lochtyn. At Trwyn Crou one male Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the water and also four bottlenose dolphins including two calves were seen foraging and travelling in various directions. A female Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water near Trwyn Crou. The final sighting was of one bottlenose dolphin foraging and travelling in a south-westerly direction near New Quay headland.

14 bottlenose dolphins and three Atlantic grey seals

The first sighting was of two bottlenose dolphins foraging at depth near New Quay harbour wall. The next sighting was also near New Quay harbour wall, of three adult bottlenose dolphins and one juvenile; they were also foraging at depth. Five adult bottlenose dolphins and two juveniles were spotted at Ynys Lochtyn, foraging at depth and travelling around the area. In the Trwyn Crou area three female Atlantic grey seals were spotted and one bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling in the area. Two female Atlantic grey seals were seen hauled out south of Cwn Tuddu.
