04/10/12 Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

2hr survey; start time 09:00
Weather conditions: Sunny and fair with some rain, sea state 2 – 3, wind SW
Eight bottlenose dolphin and one Atlantic grey seal

Eight dolphins were seen throughout the two hour survey. Two groups observed both included a calf; one group were observed milling around at the surface and the other group were observed circling at the surface and leaping and later foraging. One Atlantic grey seal was also observed during the survey near the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Fair and sunny, sea state 1 – 2, Wind SW
Eight bottlenose dolphins

Eight bottlenose dolphins including one calf were observed during the two hour survey. They travelled throughout the survey area and were mostly seen foraging near the cardinal buoy and also close to the harbour wall, some leaping and tail slaps were also recorded.

Six bottlenose dolphins

Six bottlenose dolphins including two calves were observed during the two hour survey. They were mostly observed foraging near the cardinal buoy and also close to the harbour wall.

5 bottlenose dolphins

5 bottlenose dolphins were observed during the survey. They were mostly observed foraging. One dolphin was observed foraging near the cardinal buoy and an adult dolphin and calf were observed foraging East of the fish factory.
