Weather conditions: overcast with sunny intervals, sea state 1-2, wind direction W

One bottlenose dolphin seen out by the fish factory.

2hr survey: Start time 11:00

Weather conditions: overcast / rainy, sea state 2, wind direction W becoming SW

An hour into the survey the first bottlenose dolphins were sighted travelling westerly at first then they were seen to be staying in one area. Here they were seen to be taking long dives suggesting they were foraging at depth.

2hr survey: Start time 13:00

Weather conditions: overcast / dull, sea state 2-3, wind direction SW

Throughout the entire survey a juvenile bottlenose dolphin was seen to be foraging just off the harbour wall. Further groups were seen foraging around near to the cardinal buoy throughout most of the length of the survey time.

2hr survey: Start time 15:00

Weather conditions: overcast with sunny spells, sea state 2-3, wind direction SW

The juvenile from the previous survey seen off the harbour wall was seen to stay in the area throughout the next two hour survey. It was again seen to be staying in the area taking long dives which suggests foraging at depth was occurring. Once again out by the cardinal buoy a group of 2 dolphins, one adult and one juvenile were seen to be diving at depth suggesting they were also foraging.
