03/07/2016: Eleven bottlenose dolphins, seven Atlantic grey seals and two ocean sunfish

Two bottlenose dolphins, three Atlantic grey seals and one ocean sunfish

A short while into the survey one adult and one juvenile Bottlenose dolphin were seen, passing within 25m of the boat before travelling off in a north-north-easterly direction.
A little later an oceanic sunfish was spotted directly in front of the boat swimming along the surface with its dorsal fin out of the water.
Halfway through the survey a male and female grey seal were seen bottling in the water, and a minute later another popped up a 100m from the boat.

Six bottlenose dolphins, one Atlantic grey seal and one ocean sunfish

Once clear of the bay two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging and then seen moving off in a north-easterly direction.
Once again a sunfish was seen on this survey, this time basking at the surface of the water.
An adult and a juvenile dolphin were then seen foraging, and ten minutes later two adults were spotted travelling north-west past the boat.
Finally, a female Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the water prior to re-entering the bay.

Three bottlenose dolphins and three Atlantic grey seals

Over the course of the first 45 minutes of this survey, three individual Atlantic grey seals, two of them bulls, were spotted in the water along the Ceredigion coastline.
On arrival at Ynys-Lochtyn, three adult bottlenose dolphins were spotted travelling in a northerly direction and socialising in close contact.
