03/07/13: Bottlenose Dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

Weather conditions: Dull-overcast/fair; sea state 3, wind SW.
Two Bottlenose Dolphins

A single dolphin was seen heading west then another one joined it taking irregular, long dives. The number of dolphins dropped to one by the cardinal buoy then moved towards the fish factory headland. In the second half of the survey there were two dolphins present staying and taking long irregular dives and occasionally travelling.

Weather conditions: Dull-overcast/sunny; sea state 2-3, wind NW/W/S/SW.
Two Bottlenose Dolphins

One dolphin was present at the start of the survey travelling making consistent progress but remaining near the cardinal buoy. Another dolphin entered the survey area and slow circled near the surface. In the second half of the survey there was one dolphin staying near the surface in the area north of the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: Dull-overcast/fair; sea state 2, wind S/SW.
Two Bottlenose Dolphin

In the first quarter of an hour there were two dolphins, one staying near the cardinal buoy and the other just north of the harbour wall. In the next quarter of an hour they were traveling taking longer more irregular dives towards the fish factory.

One Atlantic grey seal

In the second interval of the survey a single Atlantic grey seal was seen in the waters just north of the harbour wall.
