03/06/2016: Seven bottlenose dolphins

Six bottlenose dolphins

Early in the survey period two bottlenose dolphins, a mother and calf, were observed taking long dives by the cardinal marker, thought to be foraging at depth. Soon afterwards, another bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling very close to the harbour wall into the bay. Three further bottlenose dolphins were spotted between headland and cardinal marker travelling across the bay in an easterly direction, thought to be searching for prey. About halfway through the survey period, four of the bottlenose dolphins were last seen just north of the harbour wall, travelling out of the bay in a north-westerly direction.
