02/09/11: 19 bottlenose dolphins and 9 Atlantic grey seals

Weather conditions: sea state 2-3, visibility >10 Km, light swell
6 bottlenose dolphins and 6 Atlantic grey seals

One female Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water near to Ynys Lochtyn. An adult male Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming south west in the water slightly further down the coast from Ynys Lochtyn. After this a further three Atlantic grey seals were seen. Of these there was a mother feeding her pup hauled out on the land and a male in the water near by. On the return leg directly offshore of Cwmtydu three bottlenose dolphins were seen, two adults and one calf, these were seen to be foraging whilst travelling North East. Offshore of the second of the bird colonies an adult Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water. At the end of the survey near to the harbour wall three adult bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging.

Weather conditions: sea state 2-4, visibility >10 Km, light swell
9 bottlenose dolphins and 3 Atlantic grey seals

The first bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging next to the harbour wall. A further eight animals, five adults and three calves, were seen travelling North East away from the fish factory just around the headland. One female juvenile Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water near to Llangrannog. A further mother and calf were seen hauled out at Ynys Lochtyn.

Two bottlenose dolphins, one adult and one juvenile, were seen foraging out near to the cardinal buoy.
