02/08/11: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

Weather conditions: Sunny/fair/overcast, sea state 1-2, wind SE/SW
Five bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were seen from 9:30 onwards. Most were found to be foraging in the same location, although one was found leaping. Most were located between New Quay head and the cardinal bouy and one was located near the harbour wall.

Weather conditions: fair, sea state 1-2, wind SSW/ WSW
Four bottlenose dolphins (including one calf) and one Atlantic grey seal

Bottlenose dolphins were observed throughout the whole two hour survey and the Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the first 15 minutes of the survey by the harbour wall. Most bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging near the harbour wall or just offshore.  Few dolphins including a mother and calf were found foraging and travelling around the cardinal buoy.

Five bottlenose dolphins including one calf

Bottlenose dolphins were observed throughout the two hour survey. They were found offshore between New Quay head and the cardinal buoy. Most were found to be foraging although some were found leaping and tail slapping.
