02/06/11 – 7 bottlenose dolphins and 8 Atlantic grey seals

Weather conditions: Sea state 1, visibility 1-10, light swell.

The first sighting was at 10.08 of one bottlenose dolphin seen just in front of the fish factory, 50m off the right of the boat.

At 10.54 near Ynys Lochtyn two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging and heading inland about 100m on the right of the boat.

At 11.15 a female Atlantic grey seal was seen bottling at a cave entrance near Trwyn Crou and at 11.26 another was seen hauled up on rocks between Trwyn Crou and Cwmtydu,

Weather conditions: Sea state 2, visibility 1-10, light swell

At 12.12, two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging near New Quay headland, 30m off the right of the boat.

At 13.07 a male Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water at Ynys Lochtyn 100m off the right of the boat.

At 13.12 two Atlantic grey seals (one male and one female) were seen 40m from the boat between Ynys Lochtyn and Trwyn Crou.

At 13.17 one male Atlantic grey seal was seen hauled out on rocks by Trwyn Crou.

Weather conditions: Sea state 2 becoming 1, visibility 1-10, light swell

At 14.52 two bottlenose dolphins were seen travelling NW about 230m from the boat at Trwyn Crou.

At 15.11 two Atlantic grey seals were seen (one hauled out and the other in the water) between Trwyn Crou and Cwmtydu.
