01/08/12: Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seal

Four bottlenose dolphins

One bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging at depth twice in the early part of the survey. Another bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling towards the fish factory then two bottlenose dolphins were observed staying and mingling at the surface at the end of the survey.

8 bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins, including one calf, were seen foraging at depth close to the harbour wall. They were seen travelling and surfacing at irregular intervals throughout the whole survey. A group of five bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging at depth and one bottlenose dolphin was observed staying around the cardinal buoy at the end of the survey.

4 bottlenose dolphins including one calf

At the start of the survey two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging at depth near the cardinal buoy. These bottlenose dolphins were thought to stay throughout the whole survey and were sighted travelling towards the fish factory. Two bottlenose dolphins, including one calf, were seen foraging near the cardinal buoy.

3 bottlenose dolphins including one calf and 1 atlantic grey seal

Three bottlenose dolphins including one calf were seen throughout the survey travelling and surfacing regularly from around the fish factory to near the cardinal buoy and back at the end of the survey. One female atlantic grey seal was also sighted in the water.
