Land Based Sightings
May 1, 2018
Weather conditions: initially sunny then changing to rain, sea state 2-3, wind direction S-SW
Our volunteers carried out surveys from 7am to 7pm today. There were several sightings of bottlenose dolphins in the bay, at times thought to be chasing fish at the surface. Our ShoreFin team were able to identify one of the dolphins as Snowcap, a regular visitor to the area. We had an interesting sighting of a bridled guillemot, as well as a lone grey seal, which was briefly spotted swimming along the surface.
