The Welsh Wildlife Centre

The stunning visitor centre stands within the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve on the banks of the River Teifi.  The Welsh Wildlife Centre building won an award for architectural design in 1993 when it was first constructed, and still astonishes the visiting public today.  It is constructed largely of wood and glass and has panoramic views over the Teifi River, Cardigan town and woodland.

Inside you will find the the wonderful Glasshouse Cafe with a delightful menu created from locally sourced foods, the Otters Holt gift shop with anything from honey from the marshland bees to a bug box, and the brand new interpretation centre. The interpretation centre houses a suite of interactive cameras that are out on the marsh watching the wildlife go about its business and the tale of how Teifi Marshes has been created by the Ice Age, Geology and industry. It will give you an insight into what you might be able to find on one of our four nature trails.

Lockley Lodge

Lockley Lodge information centre and gift shop has the most stunning views over Martins Haven, on the Marloes Peninsula, Pembrokeshire. The building has a long history with the Wildlife Trust and remains a key visitor centre for the Marloes Pennisula and Skomer and Skokholm Islands. Martins Haven is also the embarkation point for Skomer and Skokholm Islands.

Skomer Island

Skomer Island day visits start on 1 April or Good Friday, whichever is earlier, until 31 October via the Dale Princess charter from Martins Haven departing at 10am, 11am, 12noon. Skomer Island Visitor Centre and chalet accommodation is almost completed and overnight accommodation is available on the island in self-catering accommodation. The island will be able to accommodate a total of 15 overnight visitors each night, and the daytime visitors to the island will be able to gain a much greater insight into the wildlife on Skomer and its nightime visitors. More information is available on our Skomer Island pages on the website.

Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre

Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre

Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre is located in New Quay, south Ceredigion. It is supported by Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Group, a marine interest group of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. It is a public information, education and research centre dedicated to raising awareness of the marine environment. The Centre works in collaboration with "Dolphin Survey Boat Trips", each trip including a research assistant studying the marine mammals in Cardigan Bay. The Centre is based in the top two floors of a beautiful listed building overlooking New Quay harbour. The Centre includes office space, which is also used for lectures and presentations, and an information display/exhibition/shop which is open during the summer months. Here you can also make bookings for the dolphin boat trips- where you can join Steve Hartley in search of cetaceans in the bay and support our research work at the same time. For more information call Laura Mears on 01545 560032 or visit the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre website.
