Skokholm Island Day Trips
We are doing five one-day trips to Skokholm Island in 2008. These are on the following dates (all on Monday):
May 19 - full
June 2 - full
June 30 - full
July 28 - three vacancies due to cancellation
August 11 - full
The cost is £25 per person per trip which includes boat fare and landing fee.
There is a waiting list for any cancellations. Please contact Island Bookings if you wish to be placed on the waiting list.
The boat will leave Martin's Haven (two miles from Marloes) at 9am and return at approximately 5.30pm.
Bookings and payment in advance should be made through Island Bookings 01239 621600 or 01239 621212. Island Bookings is open 9am-3pm Monday to Friday.
There is a National Trust car park at Martin's Haven - the charge for parking here in 2007 was £3 per day. As the car park warden will not be on duty when you arrive we must also take the cost of parking. If you are a member of the National Trust you will not have to pay but will have to display some sign of membership.
You will need to take food and drink plus drinking water with you. Do not forget any medication you might need.
Landing on Skokholm is from the side of the boat onto an uneven and potentially slippery surface and there are steps and an uphill walk to the top of the island. We cannot cater for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility. There is no electricity or telephones or hot and cold running water. Please note the only modern convenience are chemical toilets!
Please wear suitable shoes as the terrain is not level. Be aware there is little shelter on the island and be prepared for sunny/wet weather.

The dates for day trips for 2009 will not be decided until later this year but the booking office will open on 6 October but people who belong to the Friends of Skomer and Skokholm may book from 29 September.
