Stone curlews are unusual waders with large yellow eyes - perfect for hunting beetles at night.
Gelli-Hir Wood
Mixed broadleaved and wet woodland, partly ancient, and pond. The woodland is covered by a Tree Preservation Order.
Bladder wrack
This brown seaweed lives in the mid shore and looks a bit like bubble wrap with the distinctive air bladders that give it its name.
Rhos Pil-Bach a Pennar Fawr, Plwmp, Ceredigion
Purple Moor Grass and Rush pasture with ancient hedgerows, a tract of lowland wet heath, and ponds. Notified SSSI.

Egg wrack
This yellow-brown seaweed grows in dense masses on the mid shore of sheltered rocky shores. It is identifiable by the egg-shaped air bladders that give it its name.
Coed y Bwl
Coed y Bwl is an ancient Ash woodland situated on the northwest side of the Alun Valley and overlies the Carboniferous limestone. The site is a notified SSSI.
Old Warren Hill, Nanteos, Ceredigion
Mixed woodland and stream on slopes of Old Warren Hill Iron Age hillfort. The iron age hillfort is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
