Global governments are coming together once again for COP27 (or the 27th Conference of the Parties) to discuss climate change and the commitments each country will make to adapt and reduce carbon emissions. A year on from COP26 in Glasgow little progress has been made and time is running out to avoid catastrophic global warming.

The Wildlife Trusts want to see the bold rhetoric and ambitions translated into real action this decade to tackle the twin nature and climate crises.

Only a 20 minute boat trip from the mainland, Skomer is an excellent place for a daytime adventure. Bursting with seabirds including our Atlantic Puffins, Guillemots and Razorbills, this National Nature Reserve is one of Britain's most important seabird colonies. It is peaceful and wild at all times of year - there's so much to see and explore.

sometimes referred to as a “puffing pig” due to the noise they make when they breathe, porpoises differ from dolphins mainly by their shape and the smaller size of their body and dorsal fin.

With nearly 350,000 breeding pairs of Manx Shearwaters, over 40,000 Puffins, thousands of Guillemots, Razorbills and Kittiwakes and hundreds of Fulmars, Skomer is an internationally important seabird island.

It is located less than a mile off the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast making it a great place to visit for the day or stay overnight.
