#MyWildCardiff updates and Easter events!

We caught up with Chris, our Wilder Engagement Officer to hear more about My Wild Cardiff's recent projects and any events we have to look forward to over Spring.

Last month with the support of players of the Peoples Postcode Lottery as part of our My Wild Cardiff Project we installed brand new pollinator friendly Green Walls at Birchgrove Primary School.

These walls will help to reduce traffic pollution, provide a friendly habitat for wildlife and add some much needed green space to the school grounds. In the coming weeks our project officer will be working with the children of the school to discuss the importance of providing homes for nature within our cities and the impacts these green walls will have.

Over the next month there are a number of My Wild Cardiff events running..

On 13th April we will be at the Red Dragon Centre engaging with the project on how they can improve their gardens for hedgehogs, we will also be creating our own arts and craft hedgehogs out of pinecones.

The project is also funding the addition of interactive wall planter/ displays at Lansdowne road surgery for the benefit of the community group Grow Cardiff. The displays will help increase the biodiversity in the area through the planting of pollinating plants whilst also enabling education of the public through the interactive display.

Over the Easter holidays we will be present at Diana Gardens working with Action in Caerau & Ely to help create a wildlife pond with their volunteers.
