Donna’s Trig Challenge

Donna’s Trig Challenge

Donna and her children are taking on an epic challenge in Pembrokeshire to raise money for wild spaces in Wales.

Donna, Jack (16) Rose (12) and Oscar (4) will be taking on the Pembrokeshire Trig Challenge to fundraise for The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales.

Inspired by the Pembrokeshire trig bagger book she was given for Christmas, Donna decided to take on the challenge of trying to find all trig pillars across Pembrokeshire in 2024. Trig points are a familiar sight for many hikers - the symbol that you have reached the top of the summit. There are 66 trig points across the county, including one on our very own Skomer Island Nature Reserve.

Donna said, “I’m looking forward to seeing where this adventure takes us as the trig points are all over the place with one being on Skomer Island. We are really looking forward to seeing that one as we have never made the trip before.”

As well as giving her inspiration to explore new places, Donna wanted to use this challenge as an opportunity to raise £500 for the Trust.

Donna and her family started their challenge in January and have already ticked of 9 trig points including Carn Fawr, Prescelly, and Carnedd Meibion-Owen.
