This course is aimed at beginners, who wish to learn more about the terrestrial insect groups and species found in the UK. The course will involve indoor classroom sessions, as well as practical outdoor sessions, so that participants can learn how to identify insects in the field.

Attendees will also have the chance to analyse insects through a microscope to learn key identification and physiological features.

Essential items to bring:

-Packed lunch (tea and coffee is however provided)

-Waterproofs and boots for outdoor activities

-Notepad and pencil

-Hand lens
