We hold indoor evening meetings between the months of September and April every year and these take place at the Haverfordwest Leisure Centre (St Thomas Green, Haverfordwest, SA61 1QX)
Speakers with a focus on wildlife and conservation give regular talks. The venue is a bright and cosy with up-to-date technology, disabled access and parking space.
Outdoor meetings and field trips take place all year round to explore the great array of wildlife in Pembrokeshire. These occur primarily on Wildlife Trust nature reserves yet also at other locations within the wider countryside.
Anyone wishing to attend these events is extremely welcome.
Many members of the Group help the county’s Wildlife Trust Officer, Nathan Walton, in active conservation work on the 14 reserves he manages within Pembrokeshire.
The Group has a special interest in Llangloffan Fen nature reserve which it helps to support financially with raised funds. These funds have helped implement many conservation projects and improve access, developing the site into a very special place.
During summer months, marine trips are organised where a boat is chartered to sail from Neyland Marina and is out all day looking for birds, dolphins and whales along the coast and further out into the Irish sea. Local Group members are given the chance to make early bookings.
The Group also helps with manning Wildlife Trust stands at local events and does an annual money collection drive in Haverfordwest.
The Group is always looking for new members and has opportunities for being more involved with places on its committee. If you would like to be part of this Group or would like any further information, please contact the Groups Secretary, David Ramsey 01646 694365.No Events
