We’re recruiting a Living Seas Engagement Officer

The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales are recruiting a Living Seas Engagement Officer!

Starting salary: £18,500 per annum, pro rata

2.5 days per week - £9,250

In 2018 the Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales (WTSWW) and North Wales Wildlife Trust (NWWT) received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to deliver a 3 year (2018-2020) project to inspire action for marine heritage in Wales. The Living Seas Wales Project is a celebration of the natural history and the communities of the Welsh coast. Our aim is to use pioneering experiences to build connections and provide participants with the opportunity to learn about, enjoy and contribute to the conservation of the marine environment. Through the project we will also be exploring, documenting and disseminating historical records and sharing anecdotal stories about marine wildlife and heritage.

The project sees an all-Wales roadshow taking participants beneath Welsh seas using awe-inspiring virtual technology and engaging experiences on our coast as well as year-round events and activities providing volunteering opportunities and training.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Living Seas Engagement Officer for the remainder of the delivery aspect of the project (until September 2020). The successful candidate will lead on the delivery of the outreach elements of the Living Seas Wales Project, with particular focus given to the co-ordination and delivery of the ‘Living Seas Live!’ Roadshow and other outreach events and activities. You will establish strong links with local communities, businesses, groups, education facilities and organisations to deliver events and activities that will inspire people about Wales’ natural heritage and the importance of its conservation.

Please note that, as these posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, a satisfactory enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure check will be required for the successful candidates.

Swyddog Ymwybyddiaeth Moroedd Byw

Cyflog dechreuol: £18,500 y flwyddyn, pro rata

Ymddiriedolaeth Natur De a Gorllewin Cymru - 2.5 diwrnod yr wythnos - £9,250

Yn 2018 fe dderbyniwyd Ymddiriedolaeth Natur Gogledd Cymru (YNGC) ac Ymddiriedolaeth Natur De a Gorllewin Cymru (YNDGC) cyllid o Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Cenhedlaethol  i gyflwyno prosiect 3 blynedd (2018-2020) i ysbrydoli gweithredu dros dreftadaeth y môr yng Nghymru. Mae Prosiect Darganfod Moroedd Byw Cymru yn ddathliad o fyd natur a chymunedau arfordir Cymru. Ein nod ni yw defnyddio profiadau arloesol i greu cysylltiadau ac i roi cyfle i’r cyfranogwyr ddysgu am gadwraeth amgylchedd y môr, ei fwynhau a chyfrannu ato. Drwy gyfrwng y prosiect byddwn hefyd yn archwilio, cofnodi a dosbarthu cofnodion hanesyddol ac yn rhannu straeon am fywyd gwyllt a threftadaeth y môr.

Fel rhan o’r prosiect bydd sioe deithiol ledled Cymru’n mynd â’r cyfranogwyr o dan y môr yng Nghymru gyda thechnoleg rithiol ryfeddol a phrofiadau diddorol ar ein harfordir, yn ogystal â gweithgareddau drwy gydol y flwyddyn gydag elfen gref o wirfoddoli a hyfforddi.

Ar hyn o bryd rydym eisiau recriwtio Swyddog Ymwybyddiaeth Moroedd Byw i arwain y gwaith o gyflwyno elfennau addysg ac allgymorth am weddill y Prosiect Darganfod Moroedd Byw (hyd at mis Medi 2020), gyda ffocws penodol ar gydlynu a chyflwyno’r Sioe Deithiol ‘Moroedd Byw Yn Fyw!’. Byddwch yn sefydlu cysylltiadau cadarn â chymunedau, busnesau, grwpiau, cyfleusterau addysg a sefydliadau lleol i gyflwyno digwyddiadau a gweithgareddau a fydd yn ysbrydoli pobl am dreftadaeth naturiol Cymru a phwysigrwydd ei chadwraeth.

Sylwer, gan fod y swyddi hyn wedi’u heithrio o dan Ddeddf Adsefydlu Troseddwyr 1974, bydd rhaid i’r ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus gael archwiliad manwl boddhaol gan y Gwasanaeth Datgelu a Gwahardd (DBS).
