Description: The leaders for this course are Allan Brandon and Claire Install. Alan has been specifically interested in dragonflies in various parts of the World for about 15 years and has delivered a number of presentations and field excursions. Claire is the Conservation Officer for the British Dragonfly Society. She has an in-depth knowledge of UK dragonflies and their habitats, which she uses to good effect through media work, at public events and in training courses throughout Britain.
This course is designed to enable people to identify dragonflies and damselflies. The course will start with a presentation that will tell you more about the life cycle of dragonflies and give you tips on how to identify them.
The majority of the day (weather permitting) will be spent outside at Teifi Marshes identifying the species found on the reserve. Poor weather alternatives – pond dipping / exuvia ID / presentation.
Additional Information: Please bring waterproofs, sun cream and sturdy footwear for the outdoor element of the course. Refreshments are available to purchase from the cafe.
