A Birdsong, Moths and Pond-dipping Walk
Event details
Ynglŷn â'r digwyddiad
Conservationist, wildlife photographer and author Hugh Lansdown will lead this walk around the beautiful Crwys Community Woodland at Three Crosses, Gower.
There are very good surfaced paths around the woodland which are accessible for people with reduced mobility, wheelchairs, buggies and pushchairs.
Hugh, who is a member of the Swansea WTSWW group committee, will set up a moth trap the evening before so that in the morning, with a bit of luck, people will be able to get a close look at some of the night visitors to the site.
He will take people around the woodland, listening out for the birdsong. Pond-dipping will be at the lake. Equipment will be provided so that people and youngsters can discover the amazing creatures that emerge!
This event is perfect for families enjoying the Wildlife Trust's 30 Days Wild!
Please meet at the Community Woodland car park off Tirmynydd Road at 9:00am What3Words: ///lousy.belt.rely
You can find out more about the community woodland, including directions, on their website here: https://crwyscommunitywoodland.weebly.com/
Please dress suitably according to the weather forecast for the day. Bring your own refreshments if you need them. There are picnic tables in the woodland and some with views of the lake.
Accessible toilets and disabled parking are available at the site. Other parking is available on the roadsides nearby. Assistance dogs only, thank you.
Families are welcome. As we will be pond-dipping and children need to be closely supervised, each child should be accompanied by an adult.
We ask for a minimum donation of £2 per adult towards WTSWW Swansea group funds please.
