Survey Observations

Weather conditions: Mostly sunny; wind SW veering NW later in the day; sea state 2

Yesterday proved to be an exciting day for our Living Seas Volunteers  and visitors to New Quay.  A group of seven dolphins including two calves entered the bay and came close to shore.  Watchers were rewarded with an amazing encounter as the animals foraged and socialised close inshore.  At one point a dolphin entered the swimming area and then almost beached in front of the lifeboat station. Sightings continued into the evening with 3 animals still being present at the end of our surveys
