24/10/2014- Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals

Ten bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

Bottlenose dolphins were sighted throughout the majority of the survey.  At the start of the survey six bottlenose dolphins, including one calf were sighted leaping and foraging in the harbour and near the pier.  In the middle of the survey six bottlenose dolphins were sighted foraging near the reef and in the harbour.  Towards the end of the survey ten bottlenose dolphins were sighted foraging and leaping in the harbour and in front of the cardinal buoy.  One Atlantic grey seal was also sighted near the beach.

Nine bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

At the start of the survey one Atlantic grey seal was sighted to the left of the cardinal buoy.  In the second hour of the survey eight bottlenose dolphins, including two calves were sighted leaping and foraging near the fish factory.  Towards the end of the survey nine bottle nose dolphins, including two calves were sighted leaping and foraging near the cardinal buoy.  At the end of the survey nearly all dolphins had left the bay apart from a group of four with one calf, which were foraging offshore.

One Atlantic grey seal was sighted at the start of the survey travelling NW towards the fish factory.
