22/04/11 – 5 bottlenose dolphins and 8 Atlantic grey seals

2 hr: start time 09:59

Weather conditions: sea state 1, 1-10km, light swell

 The first and only sighting of the survey was five bottlenose dolphins just offshore from New Quay headland at 10:09. There were four adults and a calf and they were seen leaping and foraging with various directions of travel.

 2 hr: start time 12:27

Weather conditions: sea state 1-3, >10km, light swell

The first sighting at 13:30 was a female Atlantic grey seal in the water offshore from Trwyn Crou. Another female Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water at 13:32 in the same area. The final sighing was a third female Atlantic grey seal at 13:35, again in the water offshore from Trwyn Crou.

2 hr: start time 14:23

Weather conditions: sea state 1, >10 km, light swell

 The first sighting was at 15:18 when three female Atlantic grey seals were seen in the water offshore from Trwyn Crou. Another seal of unidentified gender was seen at 15:30, in the water, offshore from Castell Bach. The final sighting was at 15:55 when a female Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water just offshore from New Quay headland.
