Two adult bottlenose dolphins were seen during the first 15 minutes of the survey – socialising within 20m of the boat. Later on, after a quiet spell - three adult bottlenose dolphins were sighted, displaying behaviour such as foraging and socialising, before proceeding to bow-ride alongside our survey boat.

3 bottlenose dolphins and 2 Atlantic grey seals

The three dolphins seen during the survey were spotted as the boat left the harbour, performing leaps and tail slaps. Just over an hour later, a male and female seal were spotted in the water, seen to be scanning their surroundings.

Almost exactly an hour into the trip, 2 seals were spotted in the water – one was recorded as being female. Not long after, a male was also seen in the water. Just before the end of the survey, two adult bottlenose dolphins were spotted milling around at the surface.
