Two bottlenose dolphins

Two Bottlenose dolphins were seen 500m north of New Quay harbour wall at the beginning of the survey travelling west towards the fish factory – thought to be foraging. Thick fog reduced visibility below 500m towards the end of the survey, hampering efforts.

One bottlenose dolphin

One Bottlenose dolphin, (thought to be 007), was seen throughout the entire length of the survey near to the cardinal buoy initially before moving closer to the harbour wall where it was thought to be foraging.

One bottlenose dolphin

One Bottlenose dolphin, (thought to be 007), was seen throughout the entire length of the survey foraging near the cardinal buoy.

One bottlenose dolphin

One Bottlenose dolphin, (thought to be 007), was seen initially foraging at the cardinal buoy before travelling west and leaving the survey area. The dolphin – likely 007 – remerged in the last 30 minutes of the survey and continued foraging near the cardinal buoy.

Five bottlenose dolphins

The dolphin thought to be 007 remained foraging near the cardinal buoy for the first hour of the survey before moving closer towards the harbour wall. Four new dolphins (two mother and calf pairs) emerged from near the factory and moved towards the harbour wall during the last 30 minutes of the survey.
