15/08/11: 20 bottlenose dolphins

2hr survey: Start time 09:00

Two adult Bottlenose dolphins and one calf were seen by the harbour wall. They were thought to be taking long dives; foraging at depth. There were also another group of two adult bottlenose dolphins with a calf close to the cardinal buoy. Again these animals were foraging at depth.

2hr survey: Start time 11:00

Two Bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging at depth by the cardinal buoy. Two more bottlenose dolphins were spotted near the harbour wall and then travelling towards the fishery. Towards the end of the survey, two bottlenose dolphins were also seen close by to the reef, foraging at depth.

2hr survey: Start time 13:00

Two single bottlenose dolphins and a pod of three adults with a calf were seen around the cardinal buoy. One of the single dolphins was foraging at depth, but the others were circling fast with leaps and tail splashes. Half way through the survey, only the pod with the calf remained in the area.

2hr survey: Start time 15:00

At the beginning of the survey, two bottlenose dolphins were spotted travelling NW towards the cardinal buoy and then foraging at depth.
