12/07/2014 – Bottlenose Dolphins and Atlantic Grey Seals

15 Bottlenose dolphins and two grey seals

At the beginning of the survey two bottlenose dolphins were seen foraging in the bay, with a male and a female seen further down the coast to the west. Three bottlenose dolphins, (two adults and a juvenile) were later seen foraging, tail slapping and bow riding near Llangranog, and another adult and juvenile pair foraging and leaping near Aberporth. A grey seal was seen hauled out just west of Aberporth. Near Mwnt three adult bottle nose dolphins were seen foraging, tail slapping and travelling South East. Another adult Grey Seal was seen in the water near to cardigan island, and the earlier group of three Bottlenose Dolphins was seen again foraging and tail slapping. Some way off the coast on the return trip another mother and juvenile pair were seen tail slapping, and a single adult playing.
