04/09/11: 24 bottlenose dolphins, 3 Atlantic grey seals, 1 sunfish

1.5hr survey: Start time 10:05
Weather conditions: sea state 2, visibility >10 Km, light swell
8 bottlenose dolphins, 1 sunfish

The first three dolphins were seen foraging right at the start of the survey, close to the fish factory. The next four dolphins were also thought to be foraging and spotted just after we passed birds rock. Halfway through the survey we also saw one of the amazing sunfishes, right next to our boat. On the way back into the harbour there was one more dolphin seen foraging.

7 bottlenose dolphins and 1 Atlantic grey seal

Just around the headland of New Quay 5 bottlenose dolphins including one calf were spotted foraging. Close to Cwmtydu a mother and a calf were observed being foraging. We also saw one adult Atlantic grey seal on this boat trip.

One adult dolphin was spotted around the headland of New Quay. Close to Cwmtydu an Atlantic grey seal was seen in the water. On the way back into the harbour another 2 bottlenose dolphins were foraging.

8 bottlenose dolphins and 1 Atlantic grey seal

Very close to the harbour wall 4 bottlenose dolphins including two calves were seen thought to be foraging at depths. They also started leaping. Further down the coast a female Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the water. ON the way back, towards the end of the survey a mother and a juvenile and a mother and a calf were beginning to leap and foraging.
