Four bottlenose dolphins and one Atlantic grey seal

After more than an hour one male Atlantic grey seal was spotted in the water. Over half an hour later close to New Quay four bottlenose dolphins were observed foraging.

Nine bottlenose dolphins and nine Atlantic grey seals

Right at the beginning of this survey one juvenile bottlenose dolphin was observed foraging, soon followed by the observation of another adult which was foraging as well. Five minutes later another four bottlenose dolphins showed up, including one calf, which were foraging as well as leaping out of the water. Ten minutes later two Atlantic grey seals were spotted hauled out on the rocks, of which at least one was a female. Approximately 15 minutes later a female seal was seen in the water, followed right away by another sighting of a seal in the water. At 2 o’clock another female seal was spotted in the water and ten minutes later a juvenile seal was seen hauled out on the rocks. At half past two three grey seals were seen hauled out on the rocks, two minutes later one bottlenose dolphin was observed foraging, soon followed by another two independent sightings of two bottlenose dolphins, both foraging.

Eight bottlenose dolphins and six Atlantic grey seals

At the beginning of this survey one bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging, five minutes later another four bottlenose dolphins foraging, as well as leaping and afterwards travelling east. Ten minutes later four Atlantic grey seals were spotted hauled out on the rocks, of which three were females and one was a male. Less than an hour later another two seals were spotted, of which one was in the water and the other one was hauled out on the rocks. Twenty minutes later the same four seals were spotted again, still hauled out on the same rocks. A couple minutes later one bottlenose dolphin was seen foraging and two minutes later another two individuals were spotted, foraging and tail slapping as well.
