Teifi Exhibition
The middle floor of the Welsh Wildlife Centre now houses a permanent bi-lingual exhibition about the River Teifi, one of the best known rivers in Wales, particularly to fishermen! Cardigan was a bustling river port at one time and recent Objective One funding is bringing the waterside back to life.

The displays tell the story of how the geology of theTeifi river moulded the valley into what it is today and also tells you about the slate industry (slate quarries were just up the river at Cilgerran). Ships would come up the river from the port of Cardigan to collect the slate before taking it elsewhere.
There are several displays to see and read about, and some of them are interactive so you can also get involved with them.
Also on this floor in the end room are television screens showing the Marshes via a remote camera out on the reserve. You can move the camera around and zoom in and out on many of the ponds that are not accessible when walking around the reserve. In 2008 the planned camera link to Skomer Island should be up and running so you will be able to see puffins and shearwaters in season!
