Protect-A-Puffin Adoption Scheme
The Protect-a-Puffin Adoption Scheme is a new scheme which replaces the old Puffin Pal one which had been running for some years.
All monies raised from the scheme help fund the costs of employing a field assistant who carries out vital monitoring of Puffins and other seabirds on the island.
If you wish you may buy a puffin for a friend's birthday or Christmas or Easter present! In this case we would need your full name and address and your friend's full name and address. We would also need to know whether the adoption is to go direct to your friend or to you for passing on to your friend and if it is for a birthday (or any other event) the date so that we can date the letter and certificate accordingly.
The cost is £25 a year and on joining you receive:
- welcoming letter identifying your puffin
- personalised adoption certificate with your puffin's identifying details
- fact sheet on the puffin
- puffin soft toy
- puffin postcard
- puffin badge
Once a year you receive the Protect-a-Puffin report which outlines the work carried out on the island during the previous year. We also try and tell you whether we have sighted your puffin or not during this time!
