The Nature Centre

Parc Slip buildingThe Parc Slip Education Centre was built in 1994 by the Coal Board for educational purposes and is now used by the Trust as a Visitor Centre. The building is sited near the road, on the edge of the 100 hectare Parc Slip nature reserve, and adjacent to the Trust's administrative headquarters.

The centre is used for schools visits to the reserve, the Parc Slip Watch Club activities, meetings, occasional training days and events. The centre is also hired out to local organisations including the photographic club for day-time, evening and weekend events and meetings. The downstairs room has capacity for up to 48 people and has black-out blinds for slide talks.  Doors from this room open out onto the pond area and windows look out over the reserve.  Parc slip dipping platform

There is a large car park adjacent to the building and it is easy to find from junction 36 of the M4, by following the brown tourist signs showing a duck symbol and ‘Parc Slip’.
