Adoption Schemes
We have several adoption schemes which help in the work of the Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales.
The income raised goes towards:
- funding nationally important conservation projects across South & West Wales
- lobbying for better legislation to protect all wildlife in South & West Wales
- preserving and improving wildlife habitats through South & West Wales
Our supporters fund a large amount of the Trust's work - every single adoption does make a difference!
Animals to adopt include:
- Protect-a-Puffin (seen on Skomer)
- Adopt-an-Otter
- Defend-a-Dormouse
All new entrants to the scheme receive the following:
- introductory letter
- personalised adoption certificate
- fact sheet
- soft toy
plus in the case of the puffin, you also receive a puffin postcard and puffin badge.
Once a year (usually in autumn) you will receive a report on the adopted animal and, where puffins are concerned, we will endeavour to tell you whether or not your puffin has been sighted during the previous year (puffins are ringed as part of our field studies so are easily identifiable).
