Jogging for Wildlife

This October saw the record breaking Cardiff Half Marathon taking place in our capital city, being attended by over 11,000 participants, and a further 18,000 spectators, making it the most successful Cardiff Half Marathon in Wales ever. One of those participants was the long-standing volunteer, Janine Parry, who not only managed to finish the race in an amazing 2hours 10minutes, but in doing so managed to raise over £250.00 for the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (WTSWW).

Cheered on by WTSWW staff, Janine passed the finishing line just 1hour and 5 minutes after the eventual winner, home grown Simon Lawson. Whilst recovering her breath Janine hinted at the possibility of further marathons and long-distance walks for wildlife, firmly believing that she will beat her record next year.

WTSWW is incredibly grateful to Janine and all our volunteers for going out of their way to help support us and local wildlife. This support allows WTSWW to manage our nature reserves, advise landowners, undertake surveys and a great deal more.
