Balmoral Wildlife Watching Cruise

A wonderful opportunity to experience the coastline and islands of Pembrokeshire from the sea on the Balmoral Steamer on Saturday 14th June 2008

Departing from Milford Haven at 11.30 am to cruise down the historic Milford Haven waterway to the internationally important seabird islands of Skokholm (Britain’s first bird observatory) and then spectacular Skomer (surrounded by Wales’ only Marine Nature Reserve).  Next it’s dolphin watch as we head out to Grassholm, the second largest Gannetry in the world, and back via Skomer and Skokholm to see the evening return of seabirds before docking at Milford Haven at about 5.30 pm.  The exact route will be determined by the Balmoral Captain depending on weather conditions.

Expert commentary will be provided throughout the cruise highlighting the wide variety of flora and fauna to be found around the Haven and the Islands, and also on other aspects of the area and its history.

Teddy Bears Trail and Picnic

Bring your Teddy to Parc Slip Nature Reserve in Tondu for our Teddy Bear Trail.

A Teddy Bear’s Picnic will be provided after the Trail and there will be craft activities and face painting available.

Suitable for children up to the age of 5 years old.

Celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day with an Early Morning Bird Song Walk

Parc Slip Nature Centre, Fountain Road, Tondu, CF32 0EH

Sunday 4 May, Time 7.50 -10.30, Donation: £2.00 per adult

Early birds are being invited to enjoy the spectacle of the spring dawn chorus on a walk around Parc Slip on Sunday 4 May.  The walk will take approximately two and half hours and is aimed at beginners (suitable for adults and older children).  The walk will be lead by local bird watching enthusiasts Margaret and John Samuel who will help you recognise birds by sight, song and call.

Bring binoculars if possible.  Meet at 7.50am at the Visitor Centre, Parc Slip where hot drinks and a hot filled roll will be provided at the end of the walk.  As numbers are limited booking is essential.  To book your place, please contact us on 01656 724100 or email membership@welshwildlife.org
